Red CCTV will provide protection to a £227 Million residential housing development at Wembley Park.
The Manchester based security specialists will secure the site in Brent for the next three years on behalf of principal contractors John Sisk and Son.
Sisk are constructing 769 new homes and a new park – the first for 100 years in the area – across a seven-acre site.
The area is extremely busy and presents potential risks to personal, members of the public and opportunities for thieves given the high value of plant and equipment required.
The project is the latest addition to the 85-acre Wembley Park site which was originally acquired by Quintain in 2002.
They have been delivering on their vision to transform the run-down area in Brent, North West London ever since.
The project kicked off with the demolition and subsequent construction of English football’s home Wembley Stadium.
Since then the area has been completely overhauled with redevelopment attracting more than £2.7 billion worth of investment in the area, nowdubbed ‘London’s Most Exciting New Development.’
It will eventually house more than 10.3 million square foot of mixed-use development and more than 8,400 homes.
Development
John Sisk & Son have played a key role in the development of Wembley Park.
They have successfully delivered several projects including the Hilton London Wembley Hotel, the Emerald Gardens and London Designer Outlet and reconfiguration and refurbishment of the Grade 2 Listed Wembley Arena.
They agreed to construct two buildings at plots NE02 and NE03 covering 9,593m in total by 2025 with nearly three quarters of the homes available to rent with 100 affordable homes of mixed tenure.
They turned to Red CCTV to secure the site, demanding a complete security solution to protect people and plant which during this high profile project.
Red CCTV Technical Director Ashley Cardno, said: “We were honoured to be invited to provide a security solution to this prestigious project.
“Initially, we were tasked with providing a system purely to protect the perimeter with our CCTV solutions but, when we presented the full range of our technological security solutions they were keen to take advantage.
“We have now created a complete site solution which will make the site a more efficient and safer construction environment.”
CCTV Network
Red CCTV’s team adopted a two fronted approach developing highly sophisticated network of CCTV cameras to protect the perimeter of the site, and access to it, with an internal security system to protect the welfare of those working within.
Internal Red CCTV deployed a 16-camera system which is complimented with state-of-the-art analytic software to manage all alarms. The system is supported by a Red CCTV Arc remote arming and disarming app.
The App allows those working within the site to easily control the system remotely to allow individuals to work late or out of hours.
The Internal System also includes an IP Audio System to allow real-time audio challenges to any intruders whilst the police are alerted.
A camera system with highly sophisticated analytical software covers the entrance and exit to site and is programmed to check for PPE compliance, for example to ensure individuals are wearing hard hats, gloves, boots, glasses etc.
The Red CCTV team deployed the eco-friendly Halo CCTV system to protect the site externally – with 24 cameras initially deployed to protect the site.
The system will expanded and grow to more than 50 cameras, Timelapse, AV and Safety Cam solutions as the site develops over the next three years.
The Halo CCTV System was created by Red CCTV. It includes a mixture of rapidly deployable CCTV Towers and a compact fixed camera system.
The camera towers are equipped with PTZ cameras and CPNI Home Office Approved Video Analytical software to reduce false alarms by up to 95%.
Carbon Offset
Crucially, the Halo CCTV range has been designed to reduce carbon offset using a mixture of solar powered or hybrid power source.
The System at Wembley Park includes three rapidly deployable Halo CCTV Towers, which provide protection from a height of 5.5m and two Halo Compact units with umbilical cameras attached.
All camera units are equipped with IP audio horns and analytical software to reduce false alarms and provide crucial evidential recordings of incidents, all available to review remotely and as a live feed.
The System has successfully caught multiple attempts to breaches the perimeter with individuals attempting to climb over the hoarding. The rapid response team has successfully alerted the police and there have been no thefts or damage to people or property.
