Rail Director Magazine has featured the Halo Access A-Pod.
The UK leading rail publication focused on the launch of our contactless site access solution system with a two page spread in the May edition of the popular magazine.
The article focused on Red CCTV’s work with Taziker Industrial at the prestigious Temple Meads project, one of the most important historical sites in respect of British engineering.
Taziker have been using the Halo Access A-Pod since the beginning of the year to keep people safe on the £24 million station upgrade.
Red CCTV Managing Director Rob Kennedy, said: “We launched the Halo Access A-Pod earlier this year with Taziker at Bristol Temple Meads.
Sophisticated Solution
“It’s a highly sophisticated solution to a problem which was really highlighted during the Covid-19 pandemic, namely the issue of maintaining social distancing and avoid unnecessary contact.
“We developed the Halo Access A-Pod to remove the need for workers or visitors to site needing to have interaction with another person.
“That alone provides an obvious health benefit to both the person entering site and the person who would normally have checked them in, as it eliminates contact.
“It also means clients can approved access to site 24/7 without the cost of having to pay a person to physically man the entrance.
“The Pod’s provide temperate testing of anyone entering, to detect for possible signs of elevated temperature which medics say is a key symptom of Covid.
“They also check identification of the person entering site by verifying facial biometrics and checking credentials before allowing access.
“The entire system is controlled remotely via cloud based technology which can be updated in real time to onboard staff or visitors instantly.”
Smartphone App
The Halo Access A-Pod uses a dedicated smartphone app which utilises NFC and QR Access technology.
It means only permitted users are allowed entry to the Pod and they will subsequently only be granted access to site if they meet all of the criteria set by the client.
Neil Harrison, Managing Director Infrastructure at Taziker, said: “The A-Pod system from Red CCTV has been an important factor in keeping our site and our people safe during the recent work at the station.
“By utilising technology, we are able to record access to the site and monitor the temperature of employees and visitors to ensure the continued safety of our people, the site compound and the station itself.”
